    Age, Educational Qualification, Written Test and Physical Measurement Test norms for
    Selection of Tamil Nadu Sub-Inspector of Police (Technical).

    Open Candidates:
    Age:
    General - 20 to 28 years
    BC, BC(M)/MBC/DNC - 20 to 30 years
    SC, SC(A) /ST - 20 to 33 years
    Destitute Widow - 35 years
    Ex-Servicemen, Ex-personnel of Central Para Military Forces (CPMF)/ persons who are serving in Army/CPMF and going to retire within 1 year from the last date of receipt of application - 45 years

    Education:
    1) A second class diploma in Electronics and Communication Engineering awarded by the State Board of Technical Education, Tamil Nadu
    or
    2) A Degree (B.E/B.Tech) in Electronics and Communication Engineering


    Stage.I Written Exam:
    a) GK - 30 marks
    b) Technical subjects - 50 marks
    Total - 80 marks
    (160 objective type questions carrying half mark each) Duration of written test - 3 hours.

    1:5 candidates will be called for the second stage. (For selecting one candidate 5 candidates will be called for the second stage)

    Stage.II Physical Measurement Test:
    Men - Height General, BC, BC(M), MBC/DNC - 163 cms SC, SC(A)/ ST - 160 cms
    Chest 81 to 86 cms with expansion of 5 cms
    Women - Height General, BC,BC(M),MBC/DNC - 154 cms SC, SC(A)/ST - 152 cms

    All the candidates who qualify in the Physical Measurement Test shall be permitted for VivaVoce
    Stage.III Viva-Voce:
    10 Marks

    Special marks: NCC/NSS/ Games/sports - 05 marks
    Marks for Additional Educational Qualification: 5 marks shall be given to the candidates for possessing additional education qualifications as detailed below, subject to a maximum of five marks.

    B.E. degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering – 2 marks
    BCA/B.Sc. degree in Computer Science or B.Sc. IT – 2 marks
    B.E or B.Tech degree in Computer Science or I.T – 3 marks
    Post Graduate Diploma in Computer application – 1 marks
    M.E or M.Tech degree in Communication Systems – 1 marks
    M.E. or M.Tech. degree in Computer Science or I.T. – 2 marks
    MCA – 2 marks


    Departmental Candidates:
    Age:
    General - 45 years
    BC, BC(M)/MBC/DNC - 45 years
    SC, SC(A) /ST - 45 years
    Destitute Widow - 45 years

    Education:
    1) A second class diploma in Electronics and Communication Engineering awarded by the State Board of Technical Education, Tamil Nadu
    or
    2) A Degree (B.E/B.Tech) in Electronics and Communication Engineering

    B.E. degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering – 2 marks
    BCA/B.Sc. degree in Computer Science or B.Sc. IT – 2 marks
